SCPF‘s eagerly awaited 50th Anniversary Book compilation was officially launched at a special event on Sunday 15th December 2013.

The book launch was very successful with over 70 people attending throughout the day.

John Hodge opened the day, giving a vote of thanks to the main people involved in the venture before inviting Leo Rich as President of the PAGB to officially launch the book.  Leo said he felt he had two hats on – whilst it was a honour to be in attendance in his capacity as President of PAGB, he spoke from the heart as he had been involved with the SCPF (formally Southern Photographic Federation) for many years.  He thought the book showcased the high level of photography within the Federation clubs.

It was great to see and hear the hall alive with enthusiasm and interest.

Grateful thanks go to Steve Kirkby for the many photographs taken to record the day.

The book can still be purchased and if you prefer to collect then you may do so at the opening of the Federation’s annual exhibition at Salisbury Library on 10th January 2014.

50th Anniversary Book

Very important is news about our 50th Anniversary Book. Make sure you put Sunday 15th December in your diary; we are having the book launch at Jubilee Hall, New Road, Timsbury, SO51 0NH.  It will run from 10.30am – 3.30pm so plenty of time to pop along and buy your book, light buffet and drinks will be available during this time. There is a pre order form on the website and you will save 10% by buying early, just £18 a book up to and including launch day.  Not only will you see photos from your own club, possibly one of your own, the book is packed full of photographs from almost all of the clubs within the federation.  It is a terrific record of our club photography.

The Weymouth adjudication at Westfield Arts College, Littlemoor Rd, Weymouth DT3 6AA is open to observers as well as entrants, subject to number of entrants wishing to attend. Tickets (£7 inc tea / coffee) should go on sale in early October. It has been brought to our attention that a lot of e-mails intended for the Council members have been going to an incorrect address; people have been missing out the “pf” at the end of the e-mail address.

The mail has been ending up at the Southern Counties Bus company! They have been helpfully redirecting but we do not want this problem to continue, hence this reminder.
