SCPF Print and PDI Championships
The annual championships are open to all SCPF member clubs.
It is run on a single day towards the end of March and the top three clubs from each class qualify to represent the Federation in the PAGB Inter-club Championships.
There are two classes: Prints and PDIs, and clubs can enter up to 15 images in each section. There are three experienced judges that have been selected from other Federations. The judges score each image in turn according to the following criteria:
- 5 outstanding image, worthy of consideration for an award
- 4 likely to be accepted at a national/international level
- 3 good club photography
- 2 used infrequently, indicating that a judge doesn’t feel that the image meets the above
The scores are added together and clubs ranked by their total score. If there is a tie a countback occurs based on the higher number of 15s, 14s, etc.
All images that have scored a 5 from at least one judge are considered for awards. There is an overall gold medal winner and three sliver medals awarded by the individual judges. Other certificates for highly commended images are awarded at their discretion.
Every year the competition day is run by a different host club from within the Federation.
