SCPF Leagues

There are two Leagues, one for Prints and one for PDIs, and each have several divisions. Clubs are promoted and demoted through the divisions based on their position at the end of the season. Each division contains up to 8 clubs although this will vary according to the number of clubs competing across the whole league.

Competing clubs submit 8 images at the beginning of the season. A match sees all the images from the clubs in that division judged together in one evening. Each club hosts one match in their division and the judge cannot be a member of any of the competing clubs.

After each match the highest scoring club receives 8 points, the next 7 and so on. If there is a tie a countback is applied.

At the end of the season the top two clubs are promoted and the bottom two demoted. If a club leaves a League for any reason they will forfeit their place in the divisions and any subsequent re-entry will be in the lowest division.

Matches are useful for clubs as their members get to see different work of a similar quality from other clubs, there is the opportunity to meet the members of those other clubs and it is a relatively cheap evening that should cost no more than an ordinary club competition.

At the end of the season we hold a Finals’ Day competition. The highest scoring image from each club compete together to find the season’s best image. A judge from outside our Federation makes the selection and they also give a talk on the day.

Within the PAGB, only SCPF and Chilterns (CACC) run competitions of this nature. The competition remains free to enter for SCPF clubs.
