Stewarding is of vital importance to the Exhibition. Without a steward on duty we are not able to display the PDI Exhibition, unable to provide catalogues, and unable to help visitors with any information about the images on view, other photographic issues  or enquiries about SCPF or clubs. This really lets down both the Federation and the public.

There are a total of 38 half-day slots to fill and as of the date of this post only 13 have been taken, by seven clubs.  We encourage every club which has an entry to assist with stewarding, and the sooner bookings are made the better choice of dates will be available.

So please go to the online facility ( under Exhibition on the home page) where entry is very easy to complete.  If you have any problems please contact John Hodge on or

SCPF Judging Seminar for Clubs

Date: 3rd February 2019
Venue: Littleton Memorial Hall
Time: 10am – 5pm (arrival from 9:30)

SCPF would like to invite up to two people from your club to a Judging Seminar on 3rd February 2019. It is aimed at club Chairpersons and Competition Secretaries in particular, but anyone interested may attend.

As you may know, SCPF provides training for the photography judges who visit clubs in our region for competitions. Judging, along with competition itself, is probably the most talked about topic in the clubs. Whilst we have invested a lot of time and energy, for training purposes, in understanding what clubs and photographers like or don’t like when it comes to appraising images, there is always room for dialogue.

So this seminar has several purposes:

  • To enable us to share, with examples, the methodology we use in training
  • To enable us to hear from you what you feel the issues are around judging and competition
  • To enable you as photographers to understand how judging works

Hopefully this will engender a greater appreciation and understanding all round of what judging is about. The day will consist of discussion, presentation and some practical exercises using images. There will also be the opportunity, for those who wish, to try it in a safe environment.

There will be no charge, and refreshments will be provided, but we would ask that you bring your own lunches.

Please would you indicate your interest and names of interested attendees to the Judging Advisor – by December 31st, and we will then issue full joining instructions.

With best regards

… Ken Scott
Judging Advisor

I’m currently working on getting the uploader sorted for the Exhibition….

A reminder that clubs have until midnight on 30th September to upload their entries to the League website for the 2018-19 competition.

Registration is a prerequisite to entry. This takes care of your contact details, which classes you wish to enter, and entry fees.

The official Registration end date was 30th August. However there are still 6 places available as at the start of September, so if any other clubs wish to make a late registration that will be permitted for a short period. Ideally contact the Exhibition Secretary Ray Acland ( at the time of completing the on-line Registration to ensure that there is still a place available, as the limit of 35 clubs cannot be exceeded due to available space in the gallery, and registrations will be accepted on a first-come basis.

Entry to the Exhibition will as before be managed online. The uploading will be available shortly after the end of the uploading period for League entries (30th September), and the start date will be publicised on the web-site. Exhibition upload codes will be issued to all of the registered clubs at the start of the uploading period. Uploading will finish at the end of October. Please do not try to use last year’s codes or the League uploading codes.

Prints for the Exhibition will be collected at the Club Reps’ meeting on 16th November. It is essential that all of the prints are collected in by this date, as judging of the Exhibition takes place two days later on November 18th.

The Exhibition will be formally opened by the President of the PAGB Gordon Jenkins Hon PAGB on the Preview Evening Friday 4th January, and will be open to the public from 5th to 26th January.
